Friday The 13th The Game – What the duck is it?
An upcoming survival horror adventure game. Friday the 13th the game is based on the horror film franchise of the same name. Players will take on the role of a Camp Crystal Lake counselor, or the infamous masked killer himself: Jason Voorhees. Mirroring Camp Crystal Lake from the Friday the 13th film series, players will try to survive in a camp ground setting. Complete with a lake, cabins, and crazed killer who won’t stop until you die a gruesome death.
Friday The 13th The Game will be an asymmetrical multiplayer game, similar to that of ‘Evolve’. A team of several players taking on a single more powerful opponent. Playing as counselors you and six other unlucky souls will work together. You must stealthily hide from Jason or work together as team to escape. Meanwhile Jason tracks you down, and brutally slaughters you.
Or play as Jason Voorhees himself, the infamous masked killer. Stalking your prey and Brutally slaughtering each victim in an escalating variety of violent ways. Check out the Trailer below, it’s not for the faint of heart, viewer discretion advised:
Violent as Duck
Friday the 13th the game will make Mortal Kombat fatalities look like the teletubbies having a falling out. The kill animations include:
- Jason rips off your leg and walks away with it.
- Jason slits your throat and drowns you in a toilet.
- Jason folds you in half in a beach chair.
- Jason crushes your head in a TBA metal object.
- Jason curbstomps your spine.
- Jason rips the top of your skull off.
- Jason smashes you against a tree in your sleeping bag a la Friday the 13th Part VII
Kane Hodder, an actor who played Jason four times in the film franchise, will reprise him via motion capture and will coordinate the stunts for the game. All we need now is this setup to play it on:
Friday the 13th the game has received crowdfunding from Kickstarter and BackerKit. It is due for release in early 2017 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can find out more or pre order at: f13game.com. It’s sure to ruffle a few feathers but:
